What we use
Bayan uses a session cookie to keep you signed in and short-lived cookies during sign-in with Google or Microsoft; these are strictly necessary. Theme and language preferences are stored in your browser’s local storage. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Referral links
If you arrive through an affiliate’s link, Bayan stores one first-party cookie (bayan_ref) holding that affiliate’s public code and the time of your visit. It is used for one thing: crediting the affiliate if you create an account. It is readable only by our server, is never shared with third parties, does not follow you to other sites, is deleted when you sign up, and otherwise expires after 90 days. You can delete it at any time from your browser settings without affecting the service.
