Install Bayan directly
No store needed: download the extension and add it to your browser in five steps.

- 2Open the downloaded file and extract it. You get one folder named bayan-extension. Keep it where it is — the browser runs the extension from it.

Paste this address into the address bar and press Enter:
chrome://extensions - 4Turn on “Developer mode” at the top of the page.Chrome and Edge need Developer mode to load an extension from a folder instead of their store. It is normal for a direct install and does not change how Bayan works.

Click “Load unpacked”, select the bayan-extension folder itself, and click “Select Folder”. Do not choose the .zip file.

If the browser says the manifest file is missing or unreadable, you chose the folder above it. Open that folder and choose bayan-extension inside it.
That’s it. The extension opens the sign-in page on its own, and this page updates by itself.
The browser may point out that the extension runs in Developer mode. That is normal for a direct install and does not affect how it works.

Click the Bayan icon in your browser toolbar and sign in. No account yet? Create one for free.
What the extension does, plainly
What can it access?
It runs on the pages you visit so it can appear when you select text, and it sends no text to Bayan until you choose an action yourself.
Why Developer mode?
Chrome and Edge install extensions in one click only from their own stores. A direct install goes through Developer mode, and the package comes straight from Bayan’s server, not from any third party.
Updates
A directly installed copy does not update itself, so the extension tells you when a new version is out and this page walks you through updating.
